Fall 2021 Player Awards

Trent & John G- MVP

Only thing better than 1 MVP is 2?

John G was finally able to commit......

  • To a fulltime roster spot after being a sub for multiple years. He always hyped up his pitching ability from HS, but didn’t tell us he had a big stick to back it up.
  • When John G was at bat, the FAA was told to avoid flying by the park. He was famous for hits that took 10 seconds to land, and almost exclusively 20 feet beyond the outfield fence.
  • When John G was at bat, the team literally had to tell him to drop a bunt, for anything short of a HR.
  • What cemented John G name on the trophy was simply the greatest single game performance ever. Games 9 & 10 we were struggling needed to get right in order to win the $400 bet from grouchy Jay Hatfield. John stepped up and went 6-9, 4 HR, 6 Runs, 12 RBI.
  • John G finished the year hitting HR an insane 33% of his at bats while still finishing with an average north of .600. He was 1 good finish away from breaking multiple Exporter/Renegade records.

Trent is boring to watch.

  • He shows up does the right thing, doesn’t gloat or flash, but at seasons end he is consistently the leader in multiple categories. Trent was 1 hit away from breaking the all-time batting average record for Exporter/Renegade that has stood for over a decade.
  • Trent finished the season batting .756.......STUPID!!!!!

Best Fielder

Trent (SS) + B Shoop (2b)

  • They say the chemistry between a pitcher and catcher is the most important on a team.  Our double play duo would like to disagree.
  • Born on the same day at the same hospital these 2 have built a lifetime of chemistry that was never more apparent than on one of 9 double plays they turned on the year.  Simply unreal.
  • Gifted with the strongest arm on the team, there is never a ball Shoop will not relay for the extra out.
  • When Trent got hurt last year, the infield defense collapsed.  When Brenden was moved to SS to compensate, the hole at 2b was larger than the hoover dam.
  • These 2 are looking to lead by example for the Spring 2022 season as we look to bring back the adage “defense wins championships”

Rookie of the Year

Scott Trawick

Easily the greatest addition in the history of the team.  Scott came to us by way of mutual friends.  Agreeing to play on his 4th team of the week, Scott eats sleeps and breathes Softball.  Installed as the leadoff batter game 1, he exclusively hit the ball opposite to right field and had both teams dumbfounded.  He finished the year with an insane stat line

  • Getting on base 77%+ of the time
  • 26 hits and 24 runs!!!!!

Not sure if this will ever be repeated, but for our chances to win it all in the spring of 2022, we hope its even better.
